Gloria Anzaldoúa reminds us that nothing happens in the 'real world' unless it first happens in our heads. As Thatanka Iyotake says, let us put our heads together and see what life we can make for our children.
Join us as we continue our journey in afrofuturism through the Futures Lab Book Club. For the month of April, we will be reading Mind of My Mind.
Mind of My Mind by Octavia E. Butler, is the 2nd book of the Patternist series and follows after Wild Seed. After the plot of Wild Seed,Mind of My Mind reveals the origins and creation of the Patternist society. The plot takes place in 1970s, and follows Doro’s daughter Mary as she becomes an “active” telepath who is able to link to others, develops the first set of Patternists.
